Re "Outsmarting the drought" (Forum, April 20): As the ranch manager at Plantation Farm Camp for boys and girls, I'm always looking for interesting and accessible ways to show the campers how the world of farming works. They may come to camp this summer with some idea that there is a drought in California.
With the information Shahar Caspi has given us, we now have the opportunity to experiment with some ways to work toward a healthy, productive and responsible garden in a drought situation. No doubt the campers will have some ideas of their own about how to implement Caspi's ideas. I see plenty of tomatoes in our future.
Thank you for providing us with a great set of tools for educating future farmers and consumers.
