Capital Dime crew takes over former Tuli Bistro space

A new restaurant is taking over the former Tuli Bistro space at 21st and S streets. The team behind midtown’s Capital Dime are the tenants and will focus on a pizza-themed menu.

Tuli Bistro shuttered in February following a six-year run. The eatery was popular for its weekend brunch and hearty seasonal fare and recorded more than $1 million in sales annually, according to the owners, who blamed Tuli’s demise on the financial woes of its less successful sister restaurant, Thir13en, which closed in January.

Capital Dime opened during the summer of 2013 in the former L Wine Lounge at 18th and L streets. The original ownership team included Noah Zonca, the popular local chef formerly of The Kitchen. Zonca left Capital Dime as its chef and co-owner in February. Stan Moore, an alum of The Kitchen, Tuli Bistro and Enotria, now serves as head chef at Capital Dime.
