Re "Sacramento City Council approves McKinley Village plan" and "Oil tanker train derails in Lynchburg, Va., triggering fire and spill" (April 29): How ironic that the same day The Bee reported on approval of the McKinley Village project, the train derailment and fire in Lynchburg was also reported.

Three sides of the proposed development are bordered by train tracks that carry over 100 crude oil train cars daily past future homes. I only hope the City Council considered the future safety of McKinley Village residents in their approval.
