Re "Jerry Brown endorses Krell for DA" (May 1): Experience and integrity of the candidates for District Attorney should be of paramount concern. Gov. Brown's endorsement of Maggy Krell proves he is either willing to put political alliances above all else, or he lacks any personal knowledge of the candidates.
Aside from a few misdemeanor cases when first becoming a lawyer, Krell has actually tried a criminal case before a jury only five times. First year felony trial attorneys in the DA's office have more trial experience than Krell. Anne Marie Schubert has tried over 100 jury trials. Likewise, Krell has zero experience in management or developing and implementing policy, whereas Schubert has a wealth of experience in both.
The District Attorney is one elected official for whom political alliances should be irrelevant. The citizens of Sacramento need a DA with proven integrity and experience, not a political puppet. Sacramento needs Schubert.
