Re "Governor endorses Krell in county DA race" (Our Region, May 2): After much soul searching I feel compelled to respond to recent Democratic endorsements for the office of District Attorney. Two political heroes of mine, Governor Jerry Brown and Senator Darrell Steinberg, have endorsed Maggy Krell for this position. As a lifelong Democrat, I firmly believe they are committing a grievous error. Ms. Krell's presentation at the recent Bar Association candidate forum was a profound embarrassment to this proud Democrat. Her responses were shallow and her "factual" comments were not factual. Her lack of supervisory experience and her brief prosecutorial experience could be overlooked - what I could not overlook was her shallow, superficial and ill informed responses. The other two candidates both presented knowledgeable and substantive responses. I regret that my political party chose such a weak candidate. It is with much sadness that I will not be voting for the Democratic favored candidate.
