This NOAA satellite image taken Saturday, May 3, 2014, shows abundant sunshine over most of the Southwest, but a narrow band of clouds was accompanying a weak cold front into the area. Meanwhile, weakening low pressure was found to the west of Vancouver Island, with a large swirl of shallow clouds in place over the northeast Pacific. Showers were overspreading the Northwest and northern Rockies, and some snow was even found in the mountains and just north of the border.
