Re "Learn from the Swiss on youth jobs" (Editorial, April 20): This is an issue that affects all us Californians. Having been a statistic of such situations, the editorial grasped my full undivided attention. During the past few years, I have seen it happen to my peers, friends and fellow classmates.
In the period after high school and community college having nowhere to go, finding employment is demoralizing to say the least. It's not something that has affected us and our community, but the state of California as a whole is truly saddening to not have a job to show for the skills and education you spent so much time, money and effort on.
It is a bit comforting to know that there is something being at least in an effort to prevent the future high school students from going through such hardships and being referred to as "Generation jobless."
