Rocklin-based Sleep Train has kicked off its annual “Clothing Drive for Foster Kids” campaign with a goal of doubling the donations of received last year.

The campaign is run in conjunction National Foster Care Month. There are more than 60,000 foster children statewide.

“Many people don’t realize that foster children typically arrive in a foster home with just the clothes on their backs,” said Mike Wilson, a marketing executive with Sleep Train. “These kids have to leave everything behind, and their foster parents are tasked with outfitting them quickly. We can help. As a collective community, if everyone purchased a few extra items during a shopping trip, we could make this part of the transition a little smoother.”

Sleep Train offers three donation options: Drop off donations of new clothing items at any Sleep Train store through June 22, host your own clothing drive with materials provided by Sleep Train or launch an online donation campaign via Sleep Train’s ‘Donor Drive’ website.
