Re "Experts urge one-drug lethal injections" (Page A6, May 7): I found it ludicrous that President Obama "called for a review of how 'fairly' the death penalty was used."
A human being is strapped down so he is not able to move. Then he is killed by another human being. Where does the word "fair" come into this practice?
No matter how heinous the crime, I believe taking a human life in this way, by a criminal or one carrying out the criminal's execution, is terribly wrong. It is my understanding that the United States is the only first world country that uses capital punishment. I see this as a primitive and degrading part of our culture.
