BOE ‘telephone town hall’ aims to help entrepreneurs with taxes, fees

Published: Friday, May. 9, 2014 - 11:29 am

State Board of Equalization member Betty T. Yee on Tuesday will host a “telephone town hall” to educate entrepreneurs on their rights and responsibilities as California tax and fee payers.

Other BOE members and state Controller John Chiang are co-sponsors of the 10 a.m. event.

Participants will learn how to minimize the burden of tax compliance, get information on what to do if they are unable to file or pay their taxes/fees on time and get a briefing on their rights during an audit. Callers are encouraged to share their experiences and suggestions.

Interested parties are encouraged to register by Monday.

To register or obtain more information, call (844) 829-8353 or go to www.boe.ca.gov/cgi-bin/seminar.cgi?FLAG=274.
