Strong high pressure is building over Northern California. Most readings were running 5-to-10 degrees warmer Monday morning when compared to 24 hours earlier.
The gusty winds from Sunday are gone, replaced by a day-by-day build-up of heat. High temperatures are expected to crowd 100 degrees on two days this week in Sacramento.
Mondays high is forecast to come in at around 90 degrees in Sacramento. The heat will peak mid-week with 98 degrees forecast for Wednesday and 97 on Thursday.
