An Auburn man was arrested Saturday night on alleged felony weapons violations after he was reported wearing a holstered loaded handgun in plain view.

About 11:14 p.m., an Auburn police officer contacted Robert Works, who was in his vehicle in a parking lot in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue, wearing the holstered handgun. Works, 59, resisted the officer, and additional officers were called to the scene, according to a Police Department news release.

Police reported that a loaded assault weapon with several loaded high-capacity magazines were found in the vehicle along with two other loaded handguns.

Works was arrested on suspicion of several firearms-related offenses, resisting arrest and two warrants from San Bernardino County.

He was booked into Placer County Jail with total bail set at $207,500 – $175,000 for the alleged offenses in Auburn and $32,500 for the San Bernardino County warrants.
