Published: Monday, May. 12, 2014 - 7:43 pm

A 69-year-old Cameron Park man was arraigned today in federal court in Sacramento on charges of receiving child pornography.

A two-count indictment brought against Frederick Simonelli in March was unsealed today, according to a Department of Justice news release.

According to court documents, on Jan. 15, 2012, Simonelli received images through the Internet from the minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Simonelli pleaded not guilty at his arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Allison Claire. He was released on a $25,000 bond and ordered not to have any contact with minors, and not to access the Internet. His next court date is June 19 before U.S. District Judge Troy L. Nunley.

The case resulted from an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
