Near-record high temperatures are on the way to Northern California, including Sacramento where the mercury will approach 100 degrees.

High pressure is continuing to build over California. On Wednesday and Thursday, the ridge of high pressure will be directly overhead.

That is when the heat is expected to peak. Temperatures are expected to crest at 98 degrees both Wednesday and Thursday in Sacramento.
