Re "Benghazi investigation is an obvious ploy -- and marks a new low for GOP" (Viewpoints, May 13): Eugene Robinson, among many others, call the Benghazi investigation politically motivated. Is that really a bad thing?
In the 1970s, politically motivated Democrats suspected shenanigans in the White House. The suspicions turned out to be true, and when the administration was unable to withstand a massive dose of truth, it collapsed.
If the Obama administration has been as open and transparent as it promised, it has nothing to worry about. Either way, integrity in politics is very hard to come by, and it seems the only way we have of keeping politicians honest is for every administration, no matter which party, to have a politically motivated opposition ready to pounce.
