The Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center in Penryn will host its second Horse Health Fair and open house on Sunday.
The fair will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2973 Penryn Road. The center, in operation since 1975, moved into a state-of-the-art facility last year. Officials said the new site doubled the center’s capacity - from 20 to 40 - for hospitalizing large animals, including horses, llamas, alpacas and goats.
Sunday’s event will offer information for prospective and current horse owners, plus demonstrations of long-term health practices for horses.
“We are continuing to help many animals live longer, healthier lives, while providing more educational opportunities for current and future horse owners, making them better informed about what their animals need to thrive,” said veterinarian Langdon Fielding, one of the center’s co-owners.
