Cloudy Saturday morning skies lead to sunny days ahead

The cloudy skies this morning will give away to sunshine.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a high temperature of 85 degrees for Sacramento on Saturday. For Sunday, temperatures are expected to dip into the upper-70s.

George Cline, a meteorologist with the weather service, said the cooling trend is the result of the Delta breeze moving through and the high pressure ridge leaving the region.

“It’s going to cool down at least for a week,” he said.

Moderate winds of about 10 mph will remain in the forecast through Sunday.

Here’s the seven-day forecast:

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57. South southeast wind 6 to 13 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80. West southwest wind 6 to 13 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55. South southeast wind 6 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind around 6 mph.

Monday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 78.

Tuesday night: A slight chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
