Re "Prison yoga offers inmates 90-minutes pursuits of inner peace" (Healthy Choices, May 8): I am not against this program, but I strongly believe prisoners should work so they can make money and contribute to all the government pays for them.
Actually, the ones paying for them to live a decent life after they committed a crime are taxpayers. Our taxes should go to education, where it will be more valuable. Prisoners can work and earn the food they eat, and their health insurance.
It's hard to believe, but some hard-working people don't even have health insurance because they cannot afford it and if they get sick and go to the doctor, they may have to keep paying for months or even years.
Our tax money should not pay for those programs. Instead, we should give it to better programs like education.
