Re "Jerry Brown discusses a fourth term, restraint, climate change" (Editorial, May 19): In a conversation with The Sacramento Bee's editorial board, when asked about new items on his agenda, Gov. Jerry Brown brought up his goal of making more allies to combat climate change. Brown said, "I'm going to be looking to national and international agreements that can advance our key agenda, which is to cope with climate change."

It's great to see California's governor taking a leadership role in one of the most urgent issues facing the world today. Our state is already out in front with the AB 32 carbon cap and trade system, but we need more regions and countries to follow our example.

Gov. Brown should suggest other leaders push for implementation of a revenue neutral carbon tax, which has bipartisan support as a free market small government solution, and could potentially be passed at the national level.
