Re "Educating girls" (Political Cartoons, May 19): In providing an outlet for Rob Rogers to spew his hateful, leftist bile, The Bee's management reveals its lack of standards and disregard for credibility. Rogers' latest effort to group the Nigerian terrorists with the Republicans in a war on women surely sets a new target for the would-be limbo dancers among cartoonists. What an outrageous and offensive suggestion.
Did he ever bother to compare the salaries paid to female employees, scarce though they are, in the Obama administration with those of GOP politicians? As Mark Twain said, "Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please." Such cartoons are grossly insulting and devoid of subtlety, but this is what we have come to expect from the low-information, permanently blinkered water carriers for the Democratic Party. Surely your readers deserve better than a steady diet of this inane partisan rubbish. -- James McCandless, Roseville
