The threat of a few sprinkles remains in the cooler-than-normal forecast for the Sacramento region on Tuesday - but warmer and drier conditions are predicted for later this week.
A low pressure system over the Bay area early this morning is expected to shift eastward into Nevada over the next 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service. The threat of a few showers will continue over much of Northern California on Tuesday.
Skies are predicted to be clear starting Wednesday and continue that way through the weekend.
The high Tuesday in Sacramento is only expected to get up to 76 degrees, which is a half dozen degrees below normal for May 20. This month’s temperatures have been a roller coaster of cool-warm-hot readings.
As the week goes by, temperatures will rise well above normal. Sunday’s expected high is 93 degrees, 17 degrees warmer than what Sacramento is forecast to have this afternoon.
