United Way California Capital Region has launched its online “Volunteer Center,” an online site that connects the Sacramento region’s volunteers and donors with United Way’s 160 local nonprofit partners.
Officials said the Volunteer Center, at http://volunteercenter.uwccr.org/, was launched partly in response to United Way’s corporate partners seeking a coordinated way to involve employees in volunteer work, events and donation opportunities.
Individuals and corporate volunteers can log onto the website to: create a profile that lists their interests, become fans of participating nonprofits, join volunteer groups, donate unused materials/household items, learn about upcoming events/fundraisers and advocate for causes.
Local organizations can create an online profile that includes the nonprofit’s mission statement, contact information, donation needs, volunteer opportunities and upcoming events.
The United Way California Capital Region serves Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Yolo and Amador counties.
