Jonathan Raymond

Former Sacramento schools chief to lead foundation for needy students

Published: Wednesday, May. 21, 2014 - 3:06 pm

Former Sacramento City Unified School District Superintendent Jonathan Raymond will become president of the Stuart Foundation, which helps fund organizations and efforts dedicated to supporting needy students in Washington state and California.

The announcement, issued Wednesday, did not address whether Raymond will be based in San Francisco, the foundation’s base of operations, or lead the group from another part of the country. The appointment takes effect in mid-July.

Raymond was superintendent of the Sacramento City Unified for four years. He left at the end of last year after announcing in the fall that he planned to move with his family to Boston.
