In the mid- to late-’90s, a clerk was killed during a robbery at the Haggin Oaks Market, 3560 Del Paso Blvd. Was the case ever solved?

– John, Sacramento

Agit Singh, 21, of Elk Grove was fatally shot during an attempted robbery at the Haggin Oaks Market in December 1997.

No arrests have been reported in the case.

According to stories in The Bee, two masked men entered the market shortly before 9 p.m. and demanded money from Singh, one of two clerks on duty at the time. Singh was handing over something to the robbers when he was shot in the head. He was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, where he died two days later.
