Young woman dies when car hits tree in Natomas

A car left the road and struck a tree in the Natomas area Friday morning, killing the driver, the Sacramento Police Department said.

The driver, a woman in her 20s, died at the scene on San Juan Road just west of Orchard Lane. The accident occurred about 2:30 a.m.

Police investigators were attempting to determine if excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
