Re "Book publishers feel Amazon flex muscles" (Page A1, May 24): It has become clear that Amazon has too much power in the publishing industry.
If Amazon can, in effect, block its customers' orders of books from publishers who refuse to toe the Amazon line, Amazon has crossed the line into extortion. The publishers can pursue lawsuits, and Congress can consider legislative options, but we as consumers have a powerful voice, if we choose to exercise it. It is time to value business ethics over convenience, and refuse to do business with Amazon until it stops throwing its weight around.
