Water quality part of wide health gap

Re "Stark differences widen health gap" (Forum, May 11):In addition to wealth being a main contributor to the widening health gap, I believe water quality should be looked at as a possible factor. I lived in Placer County for more than 20 years, and just last June moved to Woodland in Yolo County, which I realize is bordering Yuba County.

The water is undrinkable. I realized this the first time I made coffee. There was a thick film floating on top of my coffee. After cleaning my coffee pot, I realized it was the water. After buying a water filter, which would only last ten gallons, I now have to buy my water. I think quality of water is worth investigating.
