Re "Frantic bid failed to stop killer" (Page A1, May 25): The homicides in Isle Vista were carried out by a deranged madman. Again, we have fingers pointed at the need for more restrictive gun control, as if that would have helped the three males who were knifed.
The killer probably did that so he would not be heard and could move on to his planned shootings. Thank goodness he did not gain access to the sorority house and the defenseless coeds.
In Montana, college kids can keep weapons in their dorm and you don't read about mass murders up there. Even crazy people have the ability to discern who makes easy victims. That man tried to toss some girls off a ten foot wall in order to inflict fear and harm. He would have used his car as a weapon if he couldn't get a gun.
