Re "Reason to pause on Memorial Day" (Editorial, May 26) The editorial was very well-written and a great reminder why we remember this holiday. However, there was one military service that was omitted and probably not intentionally.
I remember early on in my U.S. Army career, a friend of mine who was a Marine and I were at an event in civilian clothes. The announcer said, "We are proud of all you soldiers!" My friend yelled "I am not a soldier, I am a Marine!"
From that day forward, I knew it was soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen.
