The National Weather Service is forecasting a slight warming trend into the weekend for the Sacramento region.
The high on Friday is expected to be 86 degrees in Sacramento. By Sunday, the high temperatures are forecast to rise to the low 90s.
The month is likely to end with below-normal rainfall, continuing a pattern. So far, Sacramento has received only 0.01 of an inch of precipitation in May, which averages 0.76 for the entire month, the NWS says.
Though normally a relatively dry month, May has experienced occasional downpours, with a record 1.94 inches of rain soaking downtown Sacramento on May 5, 1889.
