Every dog had its day Saturday at “Pups in the Park” in McKinley Park.

Put on by the city’s Front Street animal shelter as a fundraiser, the event was a celebration of all things canine and included a 1K Pup Promenade, Doggy Costume Contest, carnival-style games, photo booths and agility demonstrations.

Dog lovers could eat at any of an assortment of Sacramento Mobile Foods trucks, which donated a percentage of sales to the shelter.
