Re "Arena foes end push for financing plan vote" (June 2, Our Region): I so wished to see the day when this city would get its priorities in line but it's not likely it ever will. Seattle is known for its Pikes Market and for good reason. Tourists visit daily, it's wonderful. The big Farmer's Market in Los Angeles stands a close second, always filled with people.
And then we have Sacramento begging for someone to come downtown and park, for what I am not sure, so the parking fee can be collected and used for an entertainment arena, a place to come, sit and be entertained.
No, Sacramento could and should be a place that tourists as well as those who live here want to spend some time. It could be another Seattle, but I guess that's too much to expect with such short-sighted folks in charge of our tax dollars. This city needs real leadership.
