Re "Netanyahu tries to isolate Palestinian government" (Nation/World, June 2): I have learned to detect the bias in news reporting on Israel that most Americans do not see. This bias was shown in Josef Federman's article beginning "Israel's prime minister on Sunday urged the world to shun the emerging Palestinian unity..."
Shun? Here is what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu actually said: "I call on all responsible elements in the international community not to rush to recognize a Palestinian government that includes Hamas."
Words like shun add to the impression of Israeli hard-liners being unreasonable and blocking peace.
