Re "The human cost of war" (Editorial, June 3): This article contains a glaring omission of the most pertinent fact of the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. While the Ed Board contributors covered known facts and a few unverified suppositions regarding this individual's captivity, it failed to mention the most glaring and unnerving part of the process: that President Obama once again violated a law, the one regarding notification to Congress 30 days prior to making the exchange transaction.

Now the White House spin to try to cover this newest avoidance of legal process claims that time was of the essence and didn't allow for following the law as passed by Congress in order to obtain the recovery of the individual.

The Ed Board ignoring this latest violation of federal law by The White House says volumes about the lack of veracity of the opinions expressed in this editorial and The Bee policies in general.
