Cup of disappointment

Re "Can I get a steaming cup of scorn?" (Nosh Pit, May 25): I was under the impression that Feast would try to introduce the Sacramento area to a finer dining/beverage experience. Apparently, Sac isn't ready.

The article seems to encourage Sacramentans to stay in their comfort zones, take very little risk and expect local establishments to comply with costumers who can't seem to glance at the menu. It was the coffee equivalent of ordering a Big Mac at a 4-star restaurant. I've read better reviews on Yelp.

Yes, let's try new places, and support our local economy, but let's also try to support what our town's specialty culture has to offer, rather than lazily sticking to cut-n-paste corporate concoctions.
