What: A farmers market serving south Sacramento through Labor Day has opened to run in conjunction with Sacramento Summer Night Lights.
When: 4-8 p.m. Thursdays through Sept. 2
Where: Mack Road Valley Hi Community Center, 7839 Center Parkway, Sacramento

Wines for grilling
What: The Davis Food Co-op will conduct a tasting to showcase wines that go great with backyard barbecuing of beef, chicken or vegetables. The tasting benefits Grow & Give, which teaches fifth-graders about growing and sharing organic food.
When: 6-8 p.m. June 20
Where: Davis Food Co-op, 620 G St., Davis
Cost: $1 per taste, includes snacks
Agriculture in the schools
What: The 2014 Tomato Teacher Ag Seminar, sponsored by the Yolo County Farm Bureau, will include presentations by industry experts, guided tours of farms and a processing facility, and materials for the classroom.
