Re "Fix environmental rules for everyone" (Editorial, June 9): Let me start off by saying that all Californians want clean air and clean water. This is not a want of only those on the left. However, recent regulatory legislation has gone way overboard, to the point where it has waged a war on middle-class jobs.
These burdensome regulations are sending middle-class jobs to other states while doing little to measurably improve our environment. I applaud The Bee for its editorial. It took Tesla, the favored child/industry, threatening to invest 6,500 middle-class jobs in another state to have our governor and legislators finally take notice of what other, less-favored industries have been complaining about for years.
These regulations need to be taken off steroids and modified so they both protect our environment with minimal cost to middle-class jobs.
