What: 2nd Friday ArtAbout includes two events that take place outdoors: a public art conversation/reception with artists Jonathan Hammond and Sayako Dairiki, and a performance of scenes and songs by the Davis Shakespeare Ensemble. What: The music of jazz vocalist Vivian Lee will get you in the frame of mind for “African American Art: Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights Era and Beyond,” an exhibit from the Smithsonian that opens at the Crocker Art Museum on June 29.

Sacramento French Film Festival
Bonjour, ‘Not My Type’
What: Get your tickets now for the 13th Sacramento French Film Festival, which opens June 20 with the opposites-attract comedy “Not My Type.” See works by directors François Ozon and Roman Polanski as well as films starring nearly every French actress famous in the United States, from Catherine Deneuve and Fanny Ardant to Juliette Binoche and Audrey Tautou.
