Was the killer of Jason Carlson ever convicted?

– Friend, Rancho Cordova

Jason Carlson, 26, of Rancho Cordova was found May 18, 2010, sitting in his car in the 9800 block of Lincoln Village Drive with a stab wound to his chest

He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Investigators were told that Carlson was stabbed after an altercation and, based on witnesses statements, they identified 31-year-old Alfred Jones as the suspect. Sacramento County sheriff’s officials said Carlson and Jones were acquainted.

Jones was arrested five days later during a vehicle stop on Mira Del Rio Drive and subsequently charged with murder. But, according to Sacramento Superior Court online records, charges were dismissed in July 2010.
