Replace fireworks with marijuana

Re "California man nabbed for selling fireworks online" (Capitol & California, June 14): The main force against stopping the sale of fireworks boils down to loss of revenue for nonprofit organizations. What if nonprofit organizations were allowed to sell marijuana at roadside stands and parking lots for 10 days around the Fourth of July, instead of fireworks?

Make the profit markup similar to fireworks. One must be 18 years old, but that is about it for regulations, but only for 10 days. No medical card is needed, credit cards are gladly accepted and the fun will last a lot longer than the fireworks display does.

It would put me in the holiday spirit and would keep me from sitting with my dog in the bathroom while he shakes and tries to dig through the floor all night on the Fourth.
