Re "Travel increase, CALSTRS pay off" (June 17): Wow, what a day to comment on headlines. Schools increase spending on travel. Legislature OKs rescue for CALSTRS. So schools get more money for travel expenses, and we get to bail them out on their retirement. Don't you all feel good now?
The travel expenses and all contributions to CALSTRS are paid for by us taxpayers. The legislature makes it all sound so different though.
However, when reality hits and our contributions to CALSTRS won't be enough, guess who they will be coming back to, again? That's right: us taxpayers. You want a big retirement? Contribute big.
When will it all end?
