Arraignment was continued Tuesday for a West Sacramento teacher accused of hitting three bicyclists in midtown Sacramento on Saturday night in a road-rage incident.

Wesley Cuong Tran, 31, remains in Sacramento County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail. His next court date is June 24.

Tran, a teacher at Yolo Education Center in West Sacramento, was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of driving under the influence and assault with a deadly weapon.

According to Sacramento police, Tran was stopped by an officer about 11 p.m. when his vehicle was spotted traveling in the wrong direction at high speed on 21st Street. Police said Tran had argued with a bicyclist who punctured a tire on Tran’s vehicle. Tran changed the tire, then allegedly found the bicyclist and hit him. As he fled the scene, Tran allegedly lost control of his vehicle and hit two other bicyclists. Two of the three bicyclists sustained injuries.
