Move the lions

Re "Mountain lion found in east Sacramento, tranquilized" (Sacto 911, June 22): The idea that we should share urban green space with mountain lions is absurd. Sure, while they are young and healthy, lions prey on deer and rabbits. Unfortunately, when a lion becomes too old to catch those animals it will go for easier targets like pets, senior citizens and young children.

Take a look at what's happened in India with Bengal tigers and villagers, for example. Do we need to wait for a tragedy here before we move the American River Parkway cougars to the Sierra Mountains?
