Did they ever find the shooter of the man at McDonald’s on Linden Drive in Citrus Heights?

– Chris, Citrus Heights

A Sacramento Superior Court jury in March convicted Christoph Peter Ebert-Stallworth of second-degree murder in the Jan. 4, 2013, shooting death of Baron Seidel in a McDonald’s parking lot on Lichen Drive in Citrus Heights.

Ebert-Stallworth, 21, was sentenced May 30 to 25 years to life in prison, according to online court records. He is incarcerated at Deuel Vocational Institution in Tracy.

According to stories in The Bee, Citrus Heights police responded about 6 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the parking lot in the 7800 block of Lichen Drive and found Seidel, 28, inside a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The prosecutor said in his trial brief that Ebert-Stallworth, who lived in Vallejo, drove from the Bay Area to meet Seidel in the McDonald’s parking lot to buy marijuana from him. The DA charged that Ebert-Stallworth tried to rob Seidel, but there was no exchange of money and the marijuana was left in Seidel’s car. The jury could not reach a verdict on the attempted robbery charge.
