Golden Gate Bridge netting not the answer

Re "Bridge's anti-suicide project isn't worth it" (Opinion, July 1): I am sensitive to others who simply cannot cope with life and some of the issues it can bring forth. However, since when do "No Trespassing," "Keep Out," or any other of these types of warning signs keep people away from endangering themselves or anyone/anything else?

It is absolutely laughable to think the Golden Gate Bridge authorities truly believe people wanting to commit suicide will be stopped by a netting barrier installed under the bridge. If a person truly wants to kill him/herself, it would seem that all he/she has to do is roll to the edge of the netting and keep on going.

Come on people, really? This is not going to stop someone who is truly bent on ending their life.
