Water-wise tip: Tub half full means more baths later

This is part of a weekly feature in Home & Garden, highlighting ways residents can save water.

•  Put less water in the bathtub.

This may sound like a no-brainer; using less water will save some. But how much? The average bathtub holds about 25 gallons when filled (with room for you, too). If you only fill it halfway, that’s 12.5 gallons saved. If you take two baths a week, that adds up to 1,300 gallons saved a year – enough for another year of baths.
