Time for Catholic women priests

The issue of women as priests in the Catholic Church comes up from time to time. The Church's official view on this can be summed up as not now, not later, not ever. However, a February 2014 survey by the Pew Research Center shows that 68 percent of American Catholics believe women should be ordained as priests. Does that mean we'll see women priests in the Catholic Church any time soon? Probably not.

The all-male priesthood has managed to keep the myth of all male priests alive for over two centuries. Why is this issue important? A change would mean our daughters, granddaughters and beyond would have an important opportunity that isn't currently available to them.
