Rancho Cordova residents can get tax refund help
A workshop to help eligible Rancho Cordova residents apply for tax refunds from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District will be held Tuesday. The community workshop is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anatolia Clubhouse, 11828 Chrysanthy Blvd. in Rancho Cordova.
A supplemental special tax that helps pay for fire-suppression services in the Sloughhouse/Rancho Murieta area was approved by property owners in 2000, but it was mistakenly levied on 3,841 additional neighboring parcels from tax year 2005-06 to 2012-13. Primarily affected were property owners in Rancho Cordova’s Anatolia neighborhood, according to Metro Fire officials.
During the workshop, sponsored by Assemblyman Ken Cooley, D-Rancho Cordova, property owners can receive assistance in completing and submitting their refund applications.
