Re "Polluter games aren't so cool" (Dan Morain, June 29): Here's a solution to global warming benefitting all citizens called revenue-neutral carbon fee and dividend. The government would not get the revenue; the people would. How cool is that?

On June 21, three Sacramentans journeyed to D.C joining 600 volunteers from all over the United States to meet with legislative offices, including Representative Doris Matsui's staff, regarding this.

We introduced the new study from Regional Economic Models, Inc. (REMI) that examined the impact of a steadily rising fee on carbon, with revenue returned to households. After 20 years, a fee on carbon dioxide rising $10 per ton each year would reduce greenhouse gas emissions 52 percent while adding 2.8 million jobs to the economy. The results of the REMI study were favorable to Revenue Neutral Carbon Fee and Dividend.

Talk about a cool way to bridge the partisan divide on saving the earth. -- Billie Hamilton, Sacramento
