Re "California's recount system needs a reboot" (Editorial, July 9):: The 1960 Kennedy-Nixon election was very close. Richard Nixon could have demanded a recount. In the national interest, he chose not to. In the state interest, former Assembly Speaker John A. Perez should do the same.
After many years of public service, he should try the private sector. This does not mean he should become a lobbyist. A restaurant reviewer would be a good choice.
